How it works

The calculator first converts reported absence days into a 12-month equivalent when the data covers less than a year. It then divides annualized absence days by the total scheduled workdays for the average workforce and expresses the result as a percentage. For example, 260 annual scheduled days for 50 employees gives 13,000 possible employee workdays. Annualized absence days of 260 would produce a 2% absence rate.
