How it works

The calculator estimates the total scheduled working days by multiplying team size, working days per week, and the number of weeks in each period. It divides absence days by scheduled working days to calculate each absence rate. It then subtracts the previous rate from the current rate. Finally, it divides this difference by the current period length to show the average weekly rate of change, or velocity. A negative velocity means absence has decreased; a positive velocity means it has increased.
